Maintain Your Image

Many people think of outward appearance, or the physical image when they read this phrase. I was one of those people! However, through my journey of personal leadership development, I began to hear this phrase more often and, believe me, its meaning goes beyond the outward appearance or physical image.

Unfortunately some people strive to maintain an external image that is not genuine. Perhaps an image imposed by society, family,  past experiences, or even by words that others have spoken over their lives as children. That image then becomes a “safe refuge,” often acceptable in the eyes of others but it hides the true image inside them.

God created you with a unique design! And that design has an internal image not based on what society has told you, but based on the purpose for which you have been created.

So, what is your image of yourself?

Maintaining an exterior image imposed by others or distorted from your true God-given identity can work for several years but eventually you will feel frustrated, disconnected and not complete in life.

Something I’ve learned in this journey is that how you see yourself determines how you think today. And how you think today determines how you act and perform today. And how you act and perform today will determine the decisions you make today. And the decisions you make today will determine what your future will look like.

So, of course you must maintain your outer image, but make sure it is a true reflection of your inner image, so that you will be able to successfully fulfill your purpose in life by Living Your Design!
